A mobile phone number must be registered with the State Bank of India (SBI) savings bank account in order to access the Internet Banking service. To keep track of all transactions, SBI customers must link their cell phone numbers to their savings savings accounts. Also, they will be immediately notified if an unauthorized transaction takes place in the bank account.
How to update your mobile number from Internet Banking:
- Visit www.onlinesbi.com
- Go to “Profile-Personal Details-Change mobile No.” under the “My Accounts” section located on the left panel of the page.
- Select the Account number and enter the new mobile number.
- Click “Submit” on the following screen.
- The final two digits of your previous registered mobile number will be displayed (not editable).
- SBI will use your new registered mobile number to notify you of the mapping status.
How to update mobile number from ATM:
- Visit the nearest SBI ATM.
- Select the “Register” option from the available options on the screen.
- Enter your ATM pin.
- From the menu options, choose “Mobile Number Registration.”
- Select “Change Mobile Number” from the menu options displayed on the screen.
- Enter and verify your previous mobile number.
- Enter and verify your new mobile number when prompted.
- You will receive two different OTPs on your old and new mobile numbers.
- After entering the OTP, your new mobile number will be updated in the SBI records.
