Actor Rashmika Mandanna has denounced a viral deepfake video that appears to show her entering an elevator, describing it as “extremely scary.” In a post on X, the Animal star wrote: “I feel hurt to share this and have to talk about the deepfake video of me being spread online. This is genuinely deeply unsettling, and it’s not just a personal concern for me, but for everyone who is susceptible to harm due to the misuse of technology. Today, as both a woman and an actress, I’m grateful for the protective network of my family, friends, and well-wishers. However, if such an incident had occurred during my school or college years, I can’t even fathom how I would have coped. It’s crucial that we tackle this issue as a collective community and do so with urgency, to prevent more individuals from falling victim to identity theft.

Something like this is honestly, extremely scary not only for me, but also for each one of us who today is vulnerable to so much harm because of how technology is being misused.…
A video clip, seemingly depicting Rashmika Mandanna entering an elevator, has garnered significant attention recently, sending shockwaves across the internet. However, it has been disclosed that the woman featured in the video is, in fact, British-Indian influencer Zara Patel. Deepfake technology has been employed to superimpose Ms. Patel’s face onto Rashmika Mandanna’s in the video.
One of the individuals expressing strong disapproval of the altered video was the renowned superstar Amitabh Bachchan. He called for legal action in response to the situation. Mr. Bachchan and Ms. Mandanna had shared the screen in the movie “Goodbye.”
