Bihar Cabinet has announced new openings for the Bihar Police Recruitment class of 2023. More than 75,000 new positions for policemen in various categories have been approved by the Bihar cabinet. On December 20, 2022, the state made the vacancies public.
In order to meet its promise to the state to create 10 lakh employment, the state has decided to fill more posts. A total of 75,543 openings have been made public by the Bihar Police.
Additional Chief Secretary S Siddharth explained to the media about the cabinet decisions that the Bihar cabinet approved the appointment of 7808 posts for the police and non-police cadre for Phase One of the Emergency Response Support System, ERSS – Dial 112.
To boost the police force and satisfy the demands of the growing population, the state government has decided to appoint police directly to 48447 positions. The additional chief secretary stated, “The cabinet has also approved 19288 posts under ERSS phase 2 recruitment.
At the Police Week closing ceremony on February 27, 2022, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced that the state government wanted to increase the number of police officers per lakh people in the state from 165 to 170.
The Bihar Police hiring process will be managed by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC). Candidates would be chosen after passing a written test, a physical efficiency test, and a medical exam. Following the medical examination, the candidates’ performance in all three exams will be assessed, their documentation will be reviewed, and then a final decision will be made.
