On October 26, 2023, the Haryana Government marked its 9th anniversary by granting a Diwali gift to its government employees. The Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar, announced in a press conference that the dearness allowance (DA) of the state’s 3.5 lakh government employees would be increased by 4 percent. As a result, the DA for Haryana government employees has risen from 42 percent to 46 percent.
In addition to the DA increase, Chief Minister Khattar also made several other significant announcements. The regularization of 190 additional colonies in Haryana was declared, and an increase in the honorarium of Asha workers was implemented, raising their honorarium to Rs 2100.
The Haryana government has completed 9 years in office since its inception on October 26, 2014. To celebrate this occasion, a new pension scheme, the Pran Vayu Devta Pension Scheme, was launched. This scheme will provide an annual pension of Rs 2750 to individuals who have trees on their land that are over 75 years old, with a total of 3810 trees being eligible for this pension.
Additional announcements made by the Haryana government include providing compensation of Rs 11,000 crore to farmers over the past 9 years and an increase in the number of medical colleges in the state. Haryana has seen a significant expansion in the health sector, with the number of medical colleges rising from 6 in 2014 to 15 in 2023, with 8 more medical colleges expected to be established.
It’s important to note that assembly elections are scheduled to take place in Haryana in the year 2024, and the Bharatiya Janata Party has been in power in the state since 2014, with Manohar Lal Khattar serving as the Chief Minister.
